Thought Of The Week
Wrote a short poem based on the storms that my heart is walking through…
Nibhau Nirvair - Without fear, without hate.
Countless moments in my life that I’ve felt despondent.
Beaten down into the depths of an ocean of darkness.
Thinking to myself - “I’ve never been in a pool this deep. This is as bad as it gets…”
And two things always happen after such a moment.
The first - Time, prayer and laughter become effective medicine.
The second - Life teaches me that as you age, there are darker and deeper oceans of pain & sadness.
The Lord gives his hardest battles to his hardest soldiers.
And just like Sikhs before me, I am not only battle hardened, I’m completely battle ready.
I’ll walk into every war field my God sends me into.
Because I know he has already penned down my victory.
As I lie here in these despondent tears, I know that my cuts and bruises will be my weapons for future wars.
So what if this battle was lost? Every day lies a new sun above my warrior heart.
Guess it is time once again to rise up without fear.
Guess it is time once again to take on the greatest enemy of my life - my unconquered mind.
Nirbhau - without fear, for the heavens have planned my victory already.
Nirvair - without hate, for hate is never a value that kings’ minds contain.
And a king I shall be. If not right now, then when my master deems fit.
